thanks, hopefully that balance's out the brake power more

It's REALLY hard to lock the front tires, well you can't unless you straight slam on the brakes going like 40, the rear meh you still gotta try.

Switching to the vented rears will have minimal effect on the brake balance...the rotors are the almost same diameter (vented are .5" larger) and the calipers are identical save for the slightly wider body (they use the same pads and rebuild kits).

I'm saying 4 piston on the front and single in the rear.

Yea, that's what he was talking about. All the rears are single piston calipers, but the non-vented rears that come with the front single piston caliper cars are slightly smaller than the rear vented rotors that come with the 4 piston caliper equipped cars. Hence, since the calipers are similiar and the rotors aren't much different in size, you won't notice too much bias change. It will be slightly better than stock, but not by a lot.

Bleed the fluid?

Sounds like you have air in them.

Might as well do the brace mod (check the archives) while you're messing w your brakes too.

Did you mount your calipers on the correct sides? If not, the bleeders point down, and it'll be impossible to bleed fully.

Sounds like you just need to bleed your brakes.

On the NA's, the boosters and MC's are the same, the proportioning valves are all the same. If it worked before, and not now, you did something to cause it to not work. You disconnected all the lines and let in air. Get it out and you'll be fine.

Boosters are NOT the same for the 4 piston and the single piston brakes. I swaped the brakes from my 86 parts car to my 87 and the swap was easy but the boosters were differrnt sizes.

I changed the boosters while i was doing it BUT the size differnce was not that big that i think using the stock one would make a huge differnce. Just a little harder to press the pedal most likely.4

On an S5, like the OP seems to have, the boosters and MC's are all the same an all NA's, on the S4's the 4 lug cars did get different stuff.

I want to clarify something for the 4-lug guys.

4 piston caliper can be used but with minor modification. What type of modification is needed?

Are the rotors in the front the same size on all models of the FC?
In other words if I order rotors for the single piston 4-lug caliper will they work properly with the 4 piston caliper?

NO! The rotor is significantly smaller on the 4 lug cars.
