4 dumb questions-Driveshaft/RB Catback

1. Got a new Mazdatrix Aftermarket Driveshaft. Do I need to use the shims from the original? I'm guessing no?
2. RB Catback Y-pipe craddle that hangs right behind the cat. It looks like the Y-pipe just sits on top the craddle, but it is not attached or secured to it when installed. Right? Just doesnt seem rght. The factory Y-pipe is spot welded to the craddle.
3. Are any additional heat shields needed around the RB Y-pipe? Factory pipe has them.
4. Lastly, got one gasket that is a composition type and not a metal gasket. Went everywhere but no metal gaskets. Would it be better to re-use a metal gasket I just removed, or use the composition one (paperlike gasket)? I heard the paperlike ones burntout quick.

Thanks

4. Reuse the metal gaskets if you must, I tried to use paper gaskets while metal ones were on order... didn't last more than 3 days.

Thanks Tessai, thats what I thought too about the gasket. I answered #2 myself-I was stupid and didnt see how it fit together. I do now, the craddle bolts to the back of the flange.

Still wondering about #1 and #4?

For #3, I'm not 100% sure. If they still fit, you could re-use the stock heat shields. When I put my header on, there wasn't enough space to keep the heat shields in place and have it fit, and the header sometimes actually touches the tunnel. Even so, the floor never feels hot... I wouldn't worry about it too much.

For #1 I have absolutely no clue, though you could probably contact mazdatrix for the answer.
