3800~4000rpm wall...no power

3800~4000rpm wall...no power

I don't know what it is...in 5th gear my NA S5 just creeps along...barely gets to 3800rpm and refuses to go past 4k.

What could it be?

Only in 5th gear? Other gears are fine? I'd disconnect the 5th gear switch and see if it still does it. If so, maybe there's a short that the switch is creating that affects the injectors?

doesnt the switch change the fuel map slightly?

haha this was funnier in my mind before I did some math and realized that 4k is only a hair over 100mph...which any NA, including mine, can do.

I fail at 4/1 tricky posts...

You should have said something like 6k RPM in 5th gear .

yeah yeah...it was a screw up...to make reparation for my booby I provide this:

I'm cutting new gauge faces. I'm using electroluminescent sheeting with printed numbers. It's going to be nice...especially if I can sort out how to update the look of the needles...but I digress. This will be my new tach face:



Some adjustments need to be made but that's the gist of it.
