TX 3 fuel pumps!!!

so i had a problem for a long time with my 7 where when i would try boosting or just straight up race someone, my afrs would hit dam 16-19..so after that i tried not boosting again unless i tried fixing the problem and test it out...after doing so munch stuff like desperate little things like boost clamps..i put 'Another' fuel pump in..i put in a 255 z32 twin turbo one, after that OMG...it came back to life! i finally found my prob..couple weeks later..it starts doingn it again..so i throw in another fuel pump out of a Q45...it fixed it! starts doing it again!!! so i'm like okay...walbro 255! i get it, install it...everything is bad *** again..yesterday a GTO pulled up to me...i throw it in 2nd..loud detnonating! my AFRS hit 17 again...WTF why am i going threw so much fuel pumps!!?? too much voltage!?? thanks guys.

Still have the OE fuel pump relay in place, or is the pump wired directly, 12v?

faulty 20 year old wiring/relays dropping voltage.

try throwing another pump at it instead of diagnosing it..

not the stock wiring anymore, i rewired it straight from the battery. 12V with a 40 amp relay..idk wut the hell is up.. idk if the relay is bad or what. i've been meaning to ask someone...does anyone know if its bad for the fuel pump to get 12-13+ volts to it the whole time the car is running? maybe thats killing the pumps!??

you should double check the voltage to be sure it is actually getting the 12-13 volts.

no it isn't bad for the pumps to constantly see that voltage, in fact i have one S5 T2 that is running spurts of 20volts to the pump with a kenny belle boost-a-pump to squeeze more out of the supra 1020. it will kill the pump prematurely but pumps are fine at anywhere near stock voltage, i just used it as an example that battery voltage is fine.

try getting rid of the piggy backs then and maybe install a standalone or figure out why the ECU isn't adding enough fuel. this doesn't sound like a fuel pump problem anyways.

i know its a fuel pump problem cause after a couple of weeks with having the fuel pump in it will sound a little different over time.. 'less whiny' 'more whiny'. and everytime i put in another good one, it runs beautiful. for the time being. i know it cant do anything with the ECU/SAFC. i eliminated the fuel pump relay i wired up and put it back to stock N/A wiring. its a N/A chassis with a n/a engine harness.

i would trust the original wiring even less, try fixing the wiring you installed or replace the relay with a good one or find someone who knows how to wire electrical circuits to check it and/or fix it.

yeah i mainly wanted to stock wiring to not be used cause the pump take sooo much volts from everything...and at night with my Big *** E-fan and lights and everything its scary to know how much voltage the pump would be getting..but yeah i think i might just try using a better relay. a bosch one? anyone use that one?

the fuel pump really doesn't pull alot of amps, bosch relays work fine.
