2nd GEN wheel GURUS

Got some nice 17x7 with 42offset and 2.5 polished lip. but needed to know you input. 215-40 front and 225-45 back ok.

After doing some seraching with now one responding, i cam across some interesting info.

Few individual say go with 215-45 all the way around

so im guessing 215-45 is the best solution for the front. for the rear i can put 225-45 and clear everyting correct?

I would really like to go even bigger in the rear but i guess cause its 17x7 bigger tires wont fit on 7 inch wheel.

if im wrong or you have better info or solution let me know. thanks

not sure cause that info I found from folks who had a 40" offset and iI will have havea 42" which brings the wheel in closer . not sure if that will able me to put bigger tires on or not

225/45s will fit fine, i used to run those fit fine, though the rear wheels were set in a little. they wont rub though.

yea I have checked those threads but nothing really gave me answer I was looking for. seeing that most of those threads were talking about offset of 40.

I just alwasy want to double check.

some 245 would be nice on the back but I guess i need to relize thats not happening.

thanks again.

I will go 215 front and 225 in the back.

Which wheel at 17x7+42 gives a 2.5" lip? Can you post a pic?

From: Kissimmee Fl,
i used to have 18x8 with a 3" lip, 225/35/ZR18 all around and they fit fine (lifted my car quite a bit though) the car handled great.

Its a nasty cheater lip probably. ff style when it curves back in. no +42 wheel has a legitimate lip, especially on a 7 inch wheel.

yea that's what i was thinking. it's all in the design. i have 18x8+30 and barely have a 1" legit lip.

i'm looking for a second set of lippy wheels. i don't want to curb rash or bend my 18's. finding a replacement will be almost impossible.
