2nd gen s5 factory alarm question~~~~~~??

how do i disarm the factory alarm from an s5?

i opened the hood to fill up some clutch fluid and all of a sudden the factory alarm goes off. i cant stop it when i turn the ignition on. it shuts off when i turn the ignition off. i can still start the engine. i tried unplugging the driver side door lock and all the plugs in the door pannel but still no luck. how can i disarm it? thanks for your input.

I am not at work so I don't have the disabling proceedure handy, but I believe you just need to ground a green wire running from the CPU. Don't take my word alone until I verify at work tommorow, unless someone can validate this.

Any time I have to disarm my alarm, I put the key in the drivers door and lock then unlock the door and it resets.

i took your advise, but still no luck. any way to just disconnect a wire that triggers the alarm?

Yeah it should disarm by using the key in the door.

reconnect everything in the door panels etc. the only two ways to disarm the alarm when its alarming are through the drivers door lock and the hatch lock. its possible that the switch on your drivers door lock is broken. if you put your ear next to the key and turn slowly you should hear a faint click at the end of the key turn. if not you may need to remove the handle. otherwise the hatch lock should turn it off. im not totally clear on the order of things from your first post. Was the car locked when you opened the hood, like through the window?

From start, I've unlocked the door, started the car for a warm up, about a min later opened the hood to fill the clutch oil, about half way filling the oil, the alarm goes off and can't shut it off from then. I can start the car and drive off while the alarm still goes off.

I have tried locking and unlocking the door as one of you suggested to reset the alarm. No luck.

I have tried dismantling the driver side door pannel and disconnecting all wires related to the drivers door lock and started the car from there, yet no luck. I believe the door lock has nothing to do with it. Maybe I'm wrong and missing somthing. But all wiring was unplugged and also reconnected with no success of shutting the alarm off.

I would need diagram or picture if you can show me where I can find the green/black wire to ground please.

This is really frustrating me. Please help. I'm thinking of disconnecting the horn wire but then the lights would be still blinking.

if the car was running and the alarm went off i would guess a problem with the cpu which controls the alarm or the ignition switch failing to tell the alarm to not be on. you can take the cpu apart and look for bad solder joints under a magnifier. the alarm should not be able to go off with the car running. though the alarm has a starter cut it only works when the car isn't running.

i know its frustrating but dont give up. the factory alarm is dope. I had a problem with mine where it would just go off randomly in the middle of the night. at first i pulled the ROOM and CIGAR fuses, but that cut off my clock and other good stuff. then i thought it was the door switches. it turned out that a wire in the domelight of all places was shorting out. this made the cpu think that the door switch (on the door frame, controls the dome light and alarm) was open, triggering the alarm.

One way to test the various switches in the doors hatch hood is to watch the security light on the console. when you put the key in and turn all the way the light should light up to tell you that the switch is working.

The light green / Black wire you need to ground is on the large connector that plugs into the front of the CPU, in the center. Ground it, and the CPU will always think the door is unlocked and never arm the system.

If the alarm system is the same as in my S4 you can take out the glovebox and behind that there is the CPU for the alarm, you can just disconnect the harness going into the CPU and the alarm should be disabled. My alarm would arm at random times like filling up at the gas station then I would get back in and bam it would go off, so I unhooked mine.

Nope, he has an S5 and the alarm is an IC integrated into the CPU, Thus why he needs to ground the "arming" wire that I mentioned above.

There are "three" plugs connected to the CPU. Two of these "smaller" plugs are located on the bottom with the third one connected towards the the top. JJWalker is telling you it is in this "largest" plug and there is only "one" green/black wire in that plug thus pictures would be useless. If you believe his instructions are correct then just do it.

Yep. It is the very large plug on the CPU. It is located at pin N.

Example, looking from back end where the wires protrude...

The dots represent the clip seperating the top side pins.

Remember, it is LIGHT GREEN/BLACK STRIPE.

ill have to try tomorrow, its raining to much to work on tonight. ill take your advise and try to ground the green/black wire in the cpu and give you update on that. thanks for all the input everyone.

the inside door lock switches, you can take them apart and clean them up and inspect the contacts. I was having a few alarm arming issues like the alarm going off randomly at night when i leave the doors unlocked (which the alarm shouldnt be armed).

The springs inside the contacts wear out, so just add a lil piece of something inside to add tension to the springs so it can make proper contact. Now my alarm functions great now.

When all doors and hood are closed, the alarm triggers when you lock the doors. You unlock the drivers or passangers door from the outside, and it unarms.

LIGHT GREEN/ BLACK STRIPE! Be really careful that you ground the correct wire or you could have some serious issues.

By the way, what the hell is wrong with the site lately? It doesn't like to load correctly, and half the time I have to retry posting once or twice before it goes through.

...thanks for your advise but grounding the wire didnt work. when i turn the ignition on, the alarm still goes off.

can i just cut the horn wire? but the lights would still be blinking, no? i dont know what else to do..

i think its time to sell the car...?

The alarm goes through the dash CPU located behind the left kick panel beside the fuse box. I had to replace the board inside mine to get my alarm to work again. You might try disconnecting it and reconnecting back. If my alarm goes off, it will not let the car start. I don't know if this will help.

i have an s5, someone suggested the same thing but realized that only works for an s4. tks though. my engine still turns on
