2nd gen questions

I got a couple of Q's for all you FCers. first, when was the first T2 made? how much power can they handel? like max power (T2's). What do they do stock in the 1/4, what can they do modded? (like a really good time) can they be 10 second cars?
Sorry these are really newb questions but we skiped a generation, like some weird genetic disorder. we had an 82 FB, we looked at a couple FC's and then came across what we where really after, our pride an joy, our FD. so I know about 1st gens and a good amount about 3rd gens. so if anyone could help me out with a couple of answers ide appreciate it. thanks

Scott

Over there, it was 1987 for the first TII.

They make between 183 and 200fwhp stock depending on the model. They do the 1/4 in low 15's stock.

It would cost quite a bit to make it a 10 sec car. You'd need some big turbo, intercooler, exhaust, injectors, new engine management... im not sure about the gearbox.. but they can take quite a bit.

S5 TII does 220 and I think the N/A is about 200.

Yes It would be a big project to make a 10 sec car...

Hellllllz no! rwd just like all rx-7's

first T2 were in japan/aus in 86...US got an 87 T2 model as the first year, they continued till 91.

a stock T2 will do high 14 stock.

the Red FC in the upper right hand corner was Soul Assassin's....a 10 second car.

do a search!

I dont think there is any front wheel drive rotaries anywhere, period! That would mean a north/south oppoesed engine, the only thing I have seen that is close is the 4WD rx7 in the seven stock photos

"fwhp" on this forum = flywheel horsepower. Don't ask me why.

If you can build a 10sec FB or FD, you can do 90% of the same thing to an FC. I don't quite understand what info you want if you have prior experience with rotary engines. If you want specifics, the drag racers on this site hang out in the Single Turbo section:

You are probably already familiar with SR Motorsports. They have TII upgrades for drag racing.

If my 7 was convereted to AWD I'd keep it forever instead of getting a DSM.

Actually, I was talking to a guy at 7Stock that was a regular Wankle historian. One of the very early RX's (RX1?) was a front wheel drive. But, they didn't make very many, and I am certain they were never imported to the States.
