Heya, I'm looking at picking up an 89 GTU from a friend of mine who's sorta strapped for cash. I have a 94 Touring already, but I'd love to grab an FC too. It's got quite a few miles, 179k on original engine... He says it's been meticulously maintained since the day it was bought, and he says it runs strong with no smoke but obviously pending a compression test I don't have any idea what condition the motor's really in. He says recent repairs were new raditor, hoses, starter, wiper motors and assembly and water pump less than a year ago, and it's been in storage the majority of the past year (couldn't afford insurance). He's asking $1500 for it, which I think is a good price for that year, but that is a lot of miles... I've seen pics, interior and exterior are in very good shape, it's in Texas so no rust. What do you guys think?

Well, a well taken care of NA should run to more than 230k (IF it is well taken care of, not abused, etc) So I guess it depends on how it's running currently, any issues it currently has, and compression test. I would pick it up if I had the money, sounds like it's worth it pending on how well it runs
