2mm or 3mm, small bridge or large street?

I'm getting a pineapple engine and I'm just wondering about these two auctions. It's for a s5 t2 motor, gettign stage 3 performance rebuild, hd coolant seals, should i stick with 2mm seals or go with the 3mm seals? also, would i be fine with a large streetport, or woudl it be worht it to spend extra 200 for the bridgeport? right now i have stock turbo but plan on upgrading it sometime.

3mm are a waste, use some OEM seals.

Who is tuning the car how often is it driven? That’s how you decide port on a street car I say get a SP. You would be surprise with boost how much the motor don’t give a **** what the port looks like.

Yea I know them guys at Pineaple like them hurly 3mm seals but w/e.

iceblue, wtf... since when does rob use hurley seals? hurley apex seals are junk and this is common knowledge.

and david, i'm not sure if you've ridden in a bridgeport car, but i have firsthand experience with a half-bridge car (adamlewis's) and i would prefer a street port. get a streetport. you can make lots of HP with a quality streetport and it will idle.

jacobcartmill - wtf do you know? Nothing I guess, Tinvestor just got his motor back from pinaple who swore to him on hurly 3mm seals and thus why he is runing them.

whats wrong with 3mm apex seals? and if you want the car to idle normal (for daily driving) go with a large streetport. if its going to be a weekend/track/drive when your pissed off, car then go with the bridge.

I'd love to live in NZ, especially if they girls like the lope of a bridgeport. Do they like American accents?

I'd say 2mm large streetport.

If NZ's use of the English language is any indication I would be worried.

If you go with a half bridge or full bridge you should use 3mm seals because they are more forgiving but the downside is you get more wear. BTW I have a half bridge and it's not bad at all to drive, but be prepared to have everyone stare at you because of the idle

Let me add that with a half bridge you will need to do numerous supporting mods and even a stage 4 BNR turbo will be insufficient. Your talking large turbo and standalone at this point.

Aggressive street port will yield plenty of HP

david. you have a stock turbo. get a freaking streetport and 2mm seals. 3mm seals if you feel like spending more money, but you dont need bigger ports.

The restriction is the hotside if he wanted to match it even with a SP a .96 + or so would be best but we all know you can downsize to incrase spool.

3mm are a waste of money sure use them if you want increased chatter more wear on the housings and less sealing potential and gain well nothing.

so is the idle really that bad with a bridge port? im asuming its like putting an B-cam in a speed-density mustang? really really loapy? and is it that much more wear on your seals than normal? cant you taper the edges of the ports so it wont wear like that? im curious cuase im deciding on weather or not to do this to "frankenstien" hehehe.
