Is 250-280 mpg good?

I drive it pretty spirited, but most of the time I drive slow and shift at the factory manual specs. I also drive mostly freewat cruising around 70mph-80mph. Its eating a shitload of my money. The engine has 102 compression front and 101 in the rear. It burns oil normally and has no leaks of any kind. it still runs good. mods are listed below. I get about 250-280mph depending on how I drive. I got around 290-300mpg when i was bone stock.

Wow, I only get 220 miles per tank haha. I'd consider that pretty good. I'm hoping to get that high after it tuned since it's running beyond rich for my hybrid turbo. 280 miles per tank and you fill up at maybe 14 gallons? That's 20 miles per gallon, which I'd consider good and wouldn't complain about.

Actually I fill like 16-17 gallons, so thats like 14-16 mpg. and this is mostly freeway.

yea, i had a 91 na before and it did a lot better than my current t2. right now gas is a bitch. I spend $50-75 A WEEK! I really need to get my 89 240sx fastback registered and all, so i can start saving some gas.

Mileage is covered in the FAQ, as well as ways to increase it (generally by fixing the car).

S5 TII (with me and my crap weights ~3300lbs) w/ i/e, FCD, FD fuelpump and on the HW crusing around 80mph, I managed roughly 22mpg. So, ~400mi to the tank I believe?

Both of my cars get.... I don't know!!!! Only time I think about it is on long trips. It varies so much depending on mood, music, where I'm going.... Actually I think I can get better mileage out of my T2 than my Vert when I want to.

18/26 N/A here. But yeah, turbos get less. And accelerating slowly won't help very much. Keeping your top speed down and avoiding unnecessary braking will, though.

wow i wish i could get that much.....

i dont do the miles per tank since its not really accurate unless you find the mpg then multiply

but i get 13mpg (worst) and 13.7 (best). T2 with full exhaust but stock intake.. i dont know how you guys get such great mileage. i granny shift most of the time also.... and my car is in good shape 105 both rotors with maintainence done regularly

edit: 215.8-227.42 miles per tank

wow im never going into a mpg mpt thread again this is making me depressed and i live in cali with the highest gas prices in the continental us

My NA averaged 18 or so mixed with spirited driving. My record was 28 MPG almost solid highway, but I was going 75-90 most of the way and had my windows down. I think I could have gotten over 30 if I had tried. It had a large street port and exhaust port, but it was a fresh rebuild.
Also, I just paid 1.97 for for regular a few days ago... It was 2.17 for 93 octane premium. I long for days when I started driving and it was .85 a gallon. My car got 12 MPG on a good day, but I didn't care because it was so cheap to fill up.

Argh, post your MILES PER GALLON not miles per tank. Don't post your miles per tank because it is horrlibly innacurate and misleading. If you don't have an accurate mpg gallon figure, then don't post any figure.
Sorry, but that just really gets on my nerves.

I have an 89 n/a coupe and I was getting 6.5 mpg when I got it, but I have managed to get it up to about 11 mpg after a good tune up... I dont get 200 to the tank... It may have something to do with me testing the friction on the road or lack there of on every turn I take...

LOL 11 is awful! I dogged the hell out of my S5 coupe and still managed atleast 14-15. (When I say dogged the hell out of it, i'm talking about 3 full sets of tires in 1 year)

Wow, that is **** poor. Even when I had 215k on the engine and ran the hell out of it, I still got at least 15 or 16 at the worst.

I don't know why people keep N/A FCs with such poor mileage. With what you spend in 2-3 years of extra gas you could buy an FC that gets good mileage... or at least give your current one a new engine and fix it up. And I bet you're spending a lot fixing everything on such a lousy N/A.

Driving style doesn't seem to affect mileage too much, though top speed does (but going below 40mph city/60mph freeway just makes things worse). I never go under 16mpg in the city no matter how hard I drive, unless I'm forced to go 20mph. Normally I get 18mpg city.

I am averaging about 9MPG city and 18MPG highway right now, and it's worth every dollar.

No more mileage topics!

They are always exactly the same thing, go on for weeks and contain no information. If you want information about mileage, there are a lot of links in the FAQ.
