2400 RPM Idle??
I have no idea whats up with this thing. It idles between 2200 and 2600, depending on how warm it is.

Could be many things, Throttle cable not being fully released, vac leak, Fast idle cam.
Does it go down after it has been fully warmed? Or does it stay like even after 30 min of runtime?

mine did the same thing
ended up being the BAC valve was sticking
what I ended up doing is just sealing the hose off going to the BAC so my car will at least idle at the right rpms
but I am curious how does one go about cleaning it out so it doesn't stick or am I stuckbuying a new one?

nope......i can drive from here to my girlfriends house 40 miles away at 95 miles an hour and i will put into neutral or park and it will shoot straight back up to 24, 25, 2600...
How long has it been doing this. Has it ever idled right?
If it's a new deal....then take the advice given above. Make sure your throttle cable has a touch of slack in it. Make sure the throttle is closing alll the way. If that's the case, then take the bac off. It's just two 10mm nuts and a hose clamp. Turn it on its back and pour some thing like fuel injector cleaner in it and let it sit overnight. Then apply 12v and a ground to it numerous times making sure it moves back and forth.
After you clean it you should be able to suck into its intake nipple and it should hold a vacuum. If it won't try cleaning it again. If it still won't close and hold a vacuum....then buy some gasket paper at Pepboys and make a gasket that covers the holes on the bac where it mates to the engine and reinstall the bac. IF the idle is still as you described it....then it's another thing.
