2200RPM hot idle

Hey guys,

Just finished a full rebuild on my 87 TII, replaced every single hose, and basically everything that I could get my hands on except the internals.

Car starts fine and jumps to 2500rpm. Normal. The weird part is that my hot idle is 2200rpm. I can't get it down. I tried disconnecting the throttle cable (to let it loose) and that didn't do anything. Checked for vacuum leaks but couldn't find anything. The car didn't use to do this before the rebuild, it would stay at 800RPM-ish during hot idling.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers.

What happens if you try to press upwards on the throttle linkage? Should lower it (idle) if the plates are open too much.

Thermowax/fast idle cam might not be set right.

AFM flapper might be stuck open.

Vacuum leak.

Could be incorrect timing perhaps.

Satch. Appreciate your ideas, I'll look into them all.

Update: Pulling on the pedal doesn't change anything. My wideband says I'm running around 9 while warming up (rich), 10 while driving, and 12 while idling after warmed up. Seems normal to me. Idle is just crazy high.
