200 miles on full tank (TII) Is this the norm?

I have a slightly moded TII. I am getting horrible gas mileage. 200 miles per tank. Maybe something wrongs . Car runs great and doesn't smoke.

I drive to work on the highway and don't boost that often. Some of my mods are

Full RB setup
S5 turbo
FCD
TIDw/cone filter
removed emissions

Should I be getting better mileage? Again I rarely boost and I only drive the car to work on the freeway. Half of my 10 mile commute is 50 MPH only.

sounds a like you should be getting a few more miles per gallon... a stock T2 gets something like 16mpg/24 highway. it is an rx7 though...

It doesnt seem absurdly low. I have a turbo swapped S4 vert (so even heavier than your car), and I average around 220-240 or so miles per full tank (I usually run it down to E, takes approx 15 gallons to fill back up in a mix of city and highway, and over 300-320 miles of solely highway at approx 75 mph. For highway cruising I usually run about 16:1 AFR, and the car is still very rich as soon as it hits boost and idles around 12-13 AFR. With a heavier foot tho, 200 miles is definitely not out of the question

This can help. Get an SAFC. Stop driving like a madwoman and do some "hypermiling"

My stock S5 TII gets about 280-310 miles per tank. I fill up at a quarter tank and get anywhere from 19-23 miles/gallon.

This car has NEW everything for a tune up. I have no way to read my AFR. Maybe that will be my next purchase. I do smell exhaust real bad around the car when it is running. I thought this is do to removed emissions but maybe with my mods the car is running real rich. Could this happen even though I'm running stock boost and stock ECU?

so the fuel filter is new? there isn't anything clogging the sock on the fuel pump? Your fuel pressure isnt askew? Your injectors are less than a year old?

I get 220 on 3/4 of a tank... usually ends up 15.5 - 16.1 mpg. Idk if you have s4 or s5 cuz the s4 tank is smaller by a few gallons.

The fuel filter is new and the injectors were prof cleaned when the rebuild was done. I don't know about the fuel pressure or sock in the fuel pump. I'll check these out but do you think they are causing poor mileage.

fuel economy can be adjusted some with a afc or standalone because rx7 run pig rich.

and the extreme smell that u have might be that u have no charcoal canister since u removed emmisions?

and yeah 200 is on the low side but normal ususally from spirited driving, but u have a turbo car enjoy it dont park it and look at it...

I kept the charcoal canister and ran the line back to the intake. My next purchase will be an safc or afc. I'll search and learn the diffrence. Thanks everyone this sight is so helpful with tips and ideas on how to solve problems.

It would be much better to do a proper full tune up. Then diagnose other things. Leaning it out w/ a fuel management system is not a good way to gain mpg unless you are doing it to an engine that is in perfect operating condition. I doubt yours is as most everyone isnt.

I have a damn near 350hp fc and I get about 180-90 mi out of a full tank. And when I drive my car, I DRIVE it! I think you should be getting much more in the mpg department.

I have a s4 TII with rtek 1.8 (720cc injectors) and premix and i get 300mpg. Engine has only 1000 miles with brand new 02 sensor, spark plugs and wires. Fuel filter is still old though!

I get 210 on my s4 na. But it has 60psi on the rear rotor. You said its been rebuilt but did you check the compression anyways?

when i first got my streetported 87 TII, it was in need of a tuneup. I actually thougt I was leaking gas. turns out boosting everywhere and high rpms will go through a tank in about an hour of hard driving. (I have no idea what the mileage was, I just wanted to go fast).

Since you have your egr removed your going to get lower mpg because your not getting exhaust dillution when cruising
