20 year old fuel pump
So this week I re-did my grounds to fix my lack of voltage issue. I bought a new battery and hooked it up cranked my car and noticed I didn't hear my fuel pump turn on. I checked the connection in the rear unplugged and theres power.. I took out the pump and took the pump itself off. I left my car for a couple months without starting it cause of my ground issue... I don't understand why my pump would just stop working... I do understand that the part is 20 years old and I guess it's about time it just decided to stop functioning. What do you guys think? I can just replace the bottom piece with the filter on it right?? That would be the easiest way to get the car up and running again. I don't trust my old fuel lines, tank, etc... i'm in a situation where I'm constantly frustrated by how the previous owner of my car maintained it. Dirt, grime, grease, crap, webs, etc... theres probably like 50lbs of **** built up throughout my car... iono i'm just stressed out. Fuel pump advice please to stay on topic. Thanks...
edit: is theres a way to check if the pump is good with it disassembled??

You can apply 12V to the pump and it should spin, but I wouldn't recommend it because you shouldn't run them dry. It MIGHT be ok to do that for only a second or two, but don't tell me I didn't warn you if it breaks after you try that.
The pump can quit any time it wants, so don't feel too bad or shocked, these things happen. It could also be your fuel filter or fuel sock, but you might be able to find a used stock fuel pump for less than $50 shipped (maybe even a new one *shrug*).

Yes, I'm looking for a pump.
I think I'll just try to pick up a pump and hook it up the easy route. I'll test the old pump via fused power wire... its not guna hurt to try.
