2 Questions for you Guys!? I need Help BAD!

ok #1, I have the Mysterious 5 beep pause, like quite a few of us on here. Everyone has told me it is from the power steering computer, which now makes sense to me because the beep stops when i turn the wheel all the way to either side, moving or stopped. I never actually thought about it, but my from end alignment is off due to the fact that a curb was hit by the previous owner of the car. but i wasnt going to get the alignment done untill the spring because im parking my car for the winter. I want to know if you guys think it might be the alignment?! if so, i will get it done before the winter so i can ease my mind!

#2. Im not sure, it could be a couple things, i need to know what you guys think, it could either be my battery or poor connections, but im not sure. ok, at my idle about 800 rpms, my volts are at about 12 mabeye even 10. if i turn the lights, rear defrost, or try to put the window up or down it drops significantly, so low that my sterio turns right off!!! and lately now that its a lot colder here, when i wake up in the morning my battery is usually Very Low on power, sometimes not enough to start the car and i need a boost often, Please help me guys, My car is in excellent shape, its very clean, but these 2 stupid things really take away from it, i need your help, Any at all will be very appreciated!
thanks guys
-ben

p.s. if any of you guys had the Beep and fixed it, Tell me what you did!! please!!!!

It is possible it is a poor connection but it is more likely to be the signs of a failing alternator. Take the car to your favorite parts store and have them check it while it is still on the car. Many places do this for free (AutoZone, Advanced Auto Parts, Pep Boys, etc.). If the alternator is just beginning to fail it could be charging only part of the time (or at specific engine speeds) allowing your battery to drain and not give enough power to start or run your accessories.

I have had one bad experience with a "new/rebuilt" alternator from a national chain parts store. And I have had 2 good experiences letting a local automotive electrical shop rebuild alternators so check prices and ask about their return policy if you have to replace your alternator.

Your power steering computer is reporting an error code (5 beeps is generally steering wheel angle sensor or engine speed/tach signal errors into the PSC).

And you need a new alt or grounds on the battery and motor.

Both of these have been covered a billion times. You may wish to use the search function found in the upper right hand corner of this page next time.

He's been given a link to an exhaustive thread on troubleshooting the p/s beeps. It would appear that he hasn't explored it yet...

mine started beeping.. i was told it was the power steering.. it went away, then within the week my power steering belt broke, so it must have been slipping, it was quite old - so check that.

I had the beeping problem with mine and all I had to do was to pull my steering wheel and realign it.. My turn signal cancel didn't work all the time while it was off alignment but as soon as I fix it the beeping went away and all is fine now.
