2 hot 2 hot
2 hot 2 hot
Can anyone tell me why no matter what I do there is constant heat blowing into the interior of my 1988 GTU. I know the A/C does not work but if you put the **** to cool shouldn't I get a cool breeze?
It's still summer time and damm that heat makes my feet hot and smelly
nothing worse then hot feet and hot breath

You might want to try doing a search for this problem. Sounds to me though like your air mix motor is shot. This is not very uncommon. When you move the slider it actuates a motor that in turn moves a flap in the heater core. Looks like yours is stuck on the hot end.
I had the same exact problem. You know what it was?
The DAMN Defroster button was on! I think it's the one on the left switch cluster above the lights. I NEVER noticed it until one day I saw a LED on. I've owned RX7's for over a year and never saw it DOH!!

Man I posted yesterday on how to test the air mix motor... don't you guys read or even search???
well here it is again:
If the air mix motor does not pass the test, then it is bad. If it passes the test then the Logicon is bad. I have very in expensive rebuilt Logicons on my website store if you need one, so PM or email me if you need the web address.
well here it is again:
So, there are three plugs at the Logicon. Two that plug directly into the back, and the third plug that runs off into the dash and plugs in above the air mix motor in the dash.
We are going to test a couple wires at that third harness.
So unplug that third harness. You now have a car side and a Logicon side. We are going to be testing on the car side of the plug, not the Logicon side.
We need to find the Green w/White stripe wire and the solid Yellow wire in that plug.
Putting your multi-meter on the wires, check for resistance (ohm). Resistance should be between 17 and 21 ohms at 70 degrees F.
If that checks out fine, then jumper 12 volts onto the Yellow wire, and ground onto the Green/white. The motor should move all the way over to the hot position.
If you reverse the two, (12volts on the Grn/wht and ground on the yellow) the motor should move all the way over to the cold position.
You only want to put the 12Volts on the wire until the motor gets to the hot or cold side. Remove the 12 volts after its there.
