2 different 13b engines please help

Hi i have an 89 rx7 convertible and i am doing an engine swap
my main concern is.. under the intake directly on top in between the rotors there is a hole where what looks like a vaccum is hooked up

what i am trying to do is use this good block

with this vaccum spider

here is the blown engine that does not have this option

The part you have circled is a EGR valve. Many people remove it when deleting emissions components. (They use a block off plate.)

I can't see a thermostat housing on your good engine. Is it an S4 or S5?

It looks like you are trying to put an S4 block into an S5 car?

It would be simpler to eliminate the whole rats nest, and not worry about the EGR valve. That depends on the emissions standards in your area.

First picture is a series four non turbo engine. You can tell by the EGR valve HOLE in the intermediate housing. The EGR in pic three would bolt on that empty hole.

I'd say number two is NOT a series four vacuum rack/spider. Little hard to tell because part of it goes into bright sunlight.......but first impression is not series four non turbo. Probably seies five rack/spider/tubing.

Third picture is like someone mentioned, the series four non turbo EGR valve. It would bolt on the first picture if needed. EGR are not needed for emisisons testing and do little in life useful.

Number four picture is your blown series FIVE non turbo engine.

Number five is the vacuum rack/spider for a series FOUR non turbo engine without a doubt.

I'd put the series four stuff on a series four engine and series five on a series five engine. Might change my mind knowing what or if the chassis is series five or not. Problably is..maybe.

Also if your what dynamic chamber on the engine? A series four engine with series five upper intake/dynamic chamber? or? or?

If you have a series five blown non turbo engine and are putting in a series four non turbo engine...............there's a minor problem because the series five has an ELECTRICAL oil metering pump and the series four is mechanical. If you don't at least hang the electrical omp on the harness (attach connectors but not bolt on the engine) you'll have the car/engine going into Limp MODE all the time. The series five ECU needs to see this item connected to the EM harness.....or it'll call a time out on your driving the car.

The series four non turbo engine in your first picture for some reason or the other, does NOT have stk series four fuel injectors. I'm not responsible for knowing why.

In addition to what Hailers mentioned...

If you're intending to bolt the S5 manifolds onto this new S4 block, you'll have to modify some things to get it to work. Check this writeup for what's needed: http://homepage.mac.com/carldavis/intake.html. It details converting to an S5 intake manifold on an S4.

1) The rear iron will need to be ground down
2) you'll have to decide which route you want to go for the LIM. If you have to do smog testing, sticking an S5 LIM onto an S4 block will result in you never being able to pass. The port air openings are not in the same spots.
3) An EGR valve will not fit under an S5 UIM. You'll have to block off the hole in the center iron.
