My car came with them but I just took them out. I let a few of my friends TRY and sit in them without actually goin anywhere. they all agreed that even small asian butts would be hard to fit in the back. and dont even get me started on the head room back there. woah! I say yank em out.

I'm glad I got the 2 seat model. I'm not that tall, maybe about 5'7 but when I set my seating position to drive, I just don't see how it is even remotely possible for anyone to fit in the space behind me.

Besides, I'd figure I'd have more use for the bins than the seats. After seeing a 2+2 FC in person, the seats are nearly useless. Unless you have children under 5 or have a family of midgets.

RX-7Impreza's right having only 2 seats is the best way to avoid being the Designated Driver...

uhh.. How much of the trunk space do you wanna keep? because i cant even imagine that. I think the seats would need to be cut for width, not to mention other things.

Make them into ejection seats, and when some chump makes a comment about them being uncomfortable send them flying out the moon roof.....this may require extensive mods...but well worth the laughs

just takke the seats and the bins out of the car. mount the battery behind the passenger seat and be done with it.

I had a friend sit in the back when i had no storage bins.. he said it was acctually pretty comfortable. 'he was sitting on bare chassis'

strange kid. oh well, i really dont ever have more than one other person with me. that's the way the Rx-7 was meant to be, a 2 person SPORTS car. wanna have people ride in the back of your rotary??? get an Rx-8. want quick nimble handleing and fast acceleration? stick with an Rx-7. P.s i'm not saying the Rx-8 isnt quick, but you get my point.

Oh.. while on the subjet of ejector seats. When you were being roudy in the car as a kid, did any of your parents say, "Hey! If you don't sit down and put your seatbelt on I'll press the button to eject your seat out the roof!" and they would be pointing at the E-lights button. My parents did. It took me a year to work up the ***** (when i was 4 or 5) to press the E-button. They also said they had a laser switch to blow up cars in trafic, (rear wiper switch) I never got to see it work tho.

Girls come in pairs!
Sometimes you've got a friend with you. . . I've got the 'vert, no way to fit anyone in the back of that.

But then, always remember, true friends will take the bus

I voted for them.
1. It was an option which imho adds value
2. Cut my insurance rates by about $150 because it's a four-seater... lol
3. I have them in my GXL
4. What can they hurt? You can always fold them down if you don't want anyone to know you have a backseat.

many responces.......
get rid of em

chicks dig 2 seaters

if you have kids, then i see your excuse.

lose that 20 extra lbs that all of us want to shave off our cars.

i have never been in those rx7 monkey seats, but i drove a porsche 944 w/ midget seats, and my lil sister, 4'3'', said it was uncomfortable. now they are different cars but, they are close. i think the 944 has more head room.

we buy 'our' cars because we are sports car enthusiasts. if i wanted to drive my friends around i would have bought the RX-8 (jkjk)

the less seat, the less people you have to haul

agreed with "Relisy" just gut the whole damn thing.... bare chassis (true racer)

lastly....im a short guy, 5'10'', and so is my gf, and trust... that big open trunk space comes in handy. :-)

happy rotoring
