can i put a 13b from a gsl-se into an 86 gsl? what would i need to do that? changing the motor mounts? switching from carb to fuel injection.. reason i am asking is because i am about to pick up both.. a running SE and a non running second gen... i want all the suspension and crap off the SE onto my SA.. and if i could swap the 13b into the second gen that would rock.. any ideas i am all ears... thanks for your time..

I don't believe it will work beacause of the way the FC mounts are attached to the block. The SE engine front mouts, while the FC mounts to the center iron. I don't think the SE has bolt holes there. It also won't front mount in the FC chassis because of the steering gear.

The 2nd gen 13B mounts in the center of the engine on the center iron. All previous 13Bs mount at the front cover. So at the very least, you will need to make custom engine mounts. I also doubt the oil pan will clear the 2nd gen's crossmember, so you'll need to either modify the SE pan or adapt a later 13B pan.
Also, the entire intake and EFI system is different.
And as I recall, the SE 13B makes about 16 HP less then the 2nd gen 13B.

hmmm... maybe i will just slap it in my SA instead... i need a couple things to make the 2nd gen run.. the AFC and a new fuel pump... so i cant just transfer the motormounts to the new engine then?
