Unhappy 1st gear Sputtering

I hate to just ask questions for the first couple of posts but nobody I know seems to know the answer to this problem.

In first gear my GTU will sputter off the line between 2000 and 3000 rpm. If I slowly creep off the line it doesn’t. But if I’m trying to go up hill from a stop the car shakes like crazy, due to the fact that I have to rev it higher to get it to move.

I was wondering if any of you have had this problem before, and if you could tell me how you fixed it.

I have it.....but it happens to My gfs Miata.......i think it might be the spark plug wires....and plugs. I honestly don't know.

Mine shakes off the line from time to time. Does it do it in reverse too? I think it might have to do with the clutch/trans.

It's happened a couple times in reverse too. But I don't usualy rev it very high going backwards.
Good point though my transmission is very old.

I had my mechanic look at the problem; he thought that it could be my transmission mount. I got it replaced and it did nothing. So don’t try that it won’t work.

I can't offer any help, but I can add a "me too". Mine shudders a little in 1st gear and more significantly in reverse. Starting off on an uphill makes it worse. I think it's a clutch problem but I have no idea if it really is.

Any experts out there or others who have had this problem and gotten it fixed...your help would be appreciated.

This happens in FC's. It's mainly a first gear and reverse problem. An engine torque brace will help with the problem.
