How complete?
Print Kevin's turbo conversion checklist at www.rotaryresurrection.com
Get the whole story & check it out.
Compression test, turbo shaft play etc.
Then haggle the price based on what you find.

Mazda continued selling the FC into 1992. It is the same as a 91, no changes. In 1993 they came out with the FD. In Japan the Turbo would produce 220HP.

Not quite right...

The coupe stopped production in 8/91, however the convertible continued in production through 12/92 along side the FD which actually started production in 91.

And the non-Infini versions of the 89-92 FC in Japan made only 202 HP same as the US models. The Infini IV came with 215 HP. Perhaps that is what you are confusing.

Please do not post unless you know. Making up what you think is right does not cut it.

I was under the understanding that the FC was being sold in 1992 ( I own a convertible) with no changes from the 91 model, and that the FD appeared as a 93 model and not 92.

Is this incorrect?

I agree with Icemark about posting useless "I Thought" stuff. I have read about this before, so I knew that they only made convertables in 92, and they hadthe option of a Tan leather Interior with some other little things.

For the guy with the engine, Is it from Japan, because FD's were selling in 92 in Japan. We didnt get them until 93.

It's funny he doesn't mention 250 in the listing, but he told you that in PM.

Ask him how he came up with that number.
I'd be cautious about anybody selling ANYTHING rotary related in the ForumsHawaii. Most regulars in there are a joke and "pimp wanna be's". "Yo what up boyeeee" ... Oh pleeeaaasee!!

Ha, you guys also gotta remember that next model year cars are sold a year before marked, you can get a 05 model in late 04, as early as late summer. I dunno why, its kinda goofy.

And if I remember correct, series 4 turbo's had 160 and series 5 had 180, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Officially, Mazda has only sold some leftover 1991 convertibles in 1992.
There was officially no 1992 RX-7 model in the U.S.

I *think* all 1992 models in Japan were FD3S.

No FC3S turbo engine from Japan made 250hp or 250ps, period.

Zenki FC turbo - 182hp / 185ps
Kouki FC turbo - 200hp / 205ps
There were special Infini models that made a little more power, but nothing close to 250.

Your wrong

as covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread and the Options and Standard features sticky threads (both found at the top of the FC technical section) The Series 4 Turbo came with 182 HP stock, and the S5 Turbo came with 200 HP in US trim and 202 in Japanese trim (although personally I believe they were the same, and Mazda just didn't want to pay CurtisWright for the license to sell 200+ HP in the USA until it expired in 90).

The 13b-rew from the Cosmo made 250 hp and many people makes kits for conversions into FC's. Is the engine code he gave you correct?
