1991 rx7 starter removal

my buddy is trying to remove his starter in his 91 fc non turbo, manual tranny. the shorter bolt is out, and the longest bolt just sits there and spins...any advice?

You could hold the nut on the other side... And by hold I don't mean with your hands, use a tool.

flat head screaw driver and pry it out and also try to remove it with your socket

it just falls out. the longer bolt has a nut at the end.

your in luck! I did this just last night. I used a 14mm ring open ender to hold the nut that's hard to reach and then tightened it up. When i took it off jsut used WD-40 and my hands!

The FSm says they are 17mm but they arent!
