Question 1991 Paint recall?

My car is a '91 and the paint is flaking off in many places. I was at smoking joe racing today ( www.smokingjoeracing.net ) and Joe mention in 1991 there was a recall because the paint flaked. Has anyone else heard of this?

Call mazda and they can tell you what recalls there have been. Then give them your VIN # and they can tell you what of those recalls have been perfomed on your car.

Sweet, deff find out about this. The only 7 that needs a paint recall worse than the '91 is the 10AE.

no ****, my 91 na (white) had BAD peeling paint. Got the AE and sure enough, 2 years later the hatch paint is peeling. I think it is a white paint problem.

Well, all AE's have peeling problems... Call the dealer about the recall, you don't even have to go there. Or just search the net.

Yes, PLEASE be a real recall.... I need one badly, and a good free paint job sounds very good to me.

I doubt they'd just give it to you free. Perhaps maybe SOME money. But I don't know, I just found out a few seconds ago!

Oops yeah just realized...
On another note I went to mazdausa.com and entered my VIN for recalls and it said there are NO recalls. I know at least there is the seat belt one. Maybe the site only checks for recalls on current models...

I tried to sigh up at the Mazdausa site. Nada, could not do so. Sent them an email asking how ***? Got a reply the same day to their credit. Old models are excluded, only models 10 years or newer as I recall.

When I typed my VIN it said there were no recalls. My belts light is always going nuts. I need to goto a dealership and have them do it.

sorry to disapoint all of you but anyone with a flake white paint job will either need to lawyer up (not worth the expense) or your just SOL. Mazda is not going to repaint a bunch of 15 year old cars for nada, especially not for 5th 6th or 7th owners.
