browsing through ebay and noticed a listing of a 1990 vert that the tach only went to 7000... I thought s5's went to 8k... someone care to chime in?

a lot of the time mazda's automatics have lower revs than the 5speeds…note that the car referenced is an automatic.

 

That's an odd thing to do IMO...

the A/T cars are 7k, seems like the trans can't handle 8k

 

mazda still does it. look at the rx8 auto. they also claim less power in the autos so i think thats why.


remember hp= (tq X revvs) / 5252

lower revvs = less hp

 

Auto
