1990 TII Starting Problems -HELP?
Hi everyone i'm new to this site but reading through some threads you all seem to know your stuff
Anyway i'm having a hellish time with my TII if anyone can help
The car starts fine first time every time but after a few seconds cuts itself off completley, this happens everytime and is the same timeframe of about 3seconds from ignition to cutoff. If i hold the ignition key as though i'm starting it it runs fine although you can here the starter motor buring out in the background, once released the car dies after 3secs. I've been right through the engine and am stumped, anyone had this problem before or know how i can troubleshoot it till i find whats wrong
Any help much aprreciated
Cheers AJ

Have checked for leaks, all is fine, if i give it some throttle the engine revs but still dies after 3secs or so. I have found that if i unplug the airflow meter sensor from the AFM housing the engine will run, very jerky and untidy but wont cut out, i have the round AFM where as the square one has a fuel cut of switch incorporated into it, but this cant be the problem.
Also when i turn the ignition to AC i cant hear the fuel pump priming, this makes me think its a fuel delivery problem, but why would it work when the AFM sensor is unplugged??
The fuel pump is fine, no problems there
