With a t2 you do need the t2 tranny and rearend. Not sure what hp #'s it can handle

you need a TII tranny for sure.........but i think the driveshaft is also different, but i think you can keep the same rear end, i may be wrong

the TII trans can handle more HP and TQ than the N/A tranny's can

To do the swap the correct way you need the motor ECU haress tranny, driveshaft rearend, and I am pretty sure about haveshafts. All of the components are different between NA and T2, but if you would have read the facts you would have known that.

I just bought the same car and did a vin search came up with this GTU/GXL stuff
which one is it?
gear_grinder said I probably got the base modle gtu (without the TII driveshaft/half shafts/etc)
so why is it a GXL/GTU?

GXL and GTU have the same drivetrain
the only one that is different is the TII
(GTUs does have a different final gear in the diff)

most automotive databases out there are not going to differnetiate much between the the 2

check the FAQs and stickies at the top of the page for all the little differences

if it doesn't say GXL or GTU on the front quarterpannel near the door then you have to look at the options the car has and compare themn with what you could get on the GXL or GTU and what you couldn't

^^ yeah well see, the GXL sticker is from an S4 (i guess their different) and the cas is deffinatly a 1990 which confirms that its a s5
But the wheels are GTU exclusive wheels, and it has a rear wiper from a GXL.
errg...
