1990 RX7 broken AC HELP
Whats up guys. My brother has a 1990 rx7.
Im not great with cars so bear with me.
THe ac was converted (whatever that means).
SOmeone just filled the freon stuff, but it still blows hot air. Any ideas suggestions on what to check or where to start to identify the problem?
If anyone can help, Ill post a pic. Well, Ill post a pic anyways.
THanks all!
Peace

When the air conditioner is turned on....does the clutch on the compressor pull in. Look at the compressor. When the a/c is off, and the motor running, the front face of the compressor should be stationary. When the a/c is turned on, the face should revolve.
If that does not happen, go to the drier. See the two prong electrical plug? Pull it off and jumper a wire on the wiring harness connector. Turn the a/c to on. Did the compressor come on now? IF so, and it did not before, then the system does not have enough freon/R134/whatever. Not enough pressure in the system.
Want more? Disconnect the single wire going to the compressor. Jumper it to the Positive post of the battery. The compressor clutch should engage. Car does not have to be running when doing that test.
