1990 GXL... One door lock's whaile the other opens..???

1990 GXL... One door lock's whaile the other opens..???
Trying to set my alarm...
Before i close the door i lock the door and hear the alarm go "beep".
When i close the door my passenger side unlocks....
Only way i can lock it is to use my key from the outside...
Whats going on here?
If i restart the car do you think it might reset it's self?

My 88 GXL did that. Everytime I closed the driver's door my passenger door would unlock. Turned out to be a short in the wiring from the driver's door lock. The vibration of closing the door set it off, so I had to replace the wiring.

try cleaning out the drivers side latch switch (the switch on the drivers door that you move to lock the door on the inside). It is probably dirty or mis-adjusted.
BTW: there is not a factory power door lock on the drivers door. It is a "follow me" type system.
