Red face 1990 Fc3c, Tps Adjustment And Bac, Conflicting Info.

As you all know, I just replaced water pump and had idle change. Don't know why, but decided to research and noticed something different in posts and responses than before.

When I previously adjusted TPS, warmed up and adjusted to 1.0, then checked WOT, but never did this with BAC unplugged. Did I miss something in translation somewhere? Am I checking the TPS with the BAC plugged in or not? Very confused now. Got another TPS because of previous research and posts. Still have old TPS, and wondering if I screwed up.

If I missed RXster, or wozzoom, or Reted's interp., my fault. Just really confused now. If there is a thread , or post, or something I can view that refers to BAC and TPS adjustment, without bothering you all, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have all stock engine components. Yes, its true. All emission stuff.

Um, I dunno exactly what you're trying to do, but adjusting the TPS is independent of the BAC valve.

Once engine is warm, set the TPS, and forget it (for now).
Adjust everything else till idle speed is in spec.

Sorry if this was confusing. I was adjusting the TPS, but earlier read that someone unplugged the BAC while doing this. I didn't think that was correct RETed, that is why I posted. Have gone through all the pages I have printed out from here, and re-read the manual regarding adjustment of the TPS, but just making sure.

Thanks, and if I was not clear, appologies. Just new to this car, and rather be stupid and told, than not ask, and be sorry later.

Nah, BAC valve has nothing to do with the TB.
The BAC valve is just a bypass valve - it opens up and allows air to bypass the TB.
This causes the idle to bump up a bit.

You can't really adjust the TPS with the engine running - well, at least with the resistance / DMM method anyways.
