1989 Rx7 GTUs
Hello to all
I am new to the forum, I own a 1989 rx7 GTUs, The car's engine is blown, and I am considering a Turbo swap, I have spoke with a few people and they tell not to do it, It is my understanding that this is a limited edition rx7, My question to you is have anybody done a turbo swap on one of these cars before? Will it hurt the resale value if I did it?, Or should I keep it stock?
I have also considered selling the car and if there is anybody interested in buying the car I am asking 1,000.00 usd
you can call me at 770-898-6068 or email me at dann45pr@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance
Danny

Yes, there are probably 5-10 people on this board who have swapped a turbo motor into their GTUs. There are probably also 5-10 thousand people on this board who despise us for it.
-The GTUs is a rare car, only ~1100 in existence.
-Turbo swaps are not to be taken lightly if you don't have both the experience and the parts readily available to you.
-It probably wouldn't hurt the resale value because anybody who is specifically looking for a GTUs knows that a turbo GTUs is a valuable car.
-If you're willing to sell the car for $1k, I would just sell it. A turbo swap costs a lot of money and a lot of time. Give it to someone who prefers an NA GTUs and buy a turbo.
Good luck!

I just got me a GTUs just about 1 week ago. I love the car!!..I also have a 87TII that is mildly modified just incase i want to play with boost. I love both cars..They are rare and i would keep it if i were you. Here in LA we hardly see a GTUs forsale. I had to drive 100 miles to pick mine up. Had suspension and exaust upgrade which made me love the car even more.
BTW anyone know where to get a GTUs decal??.. I called MAZDATRIX and and they said they discontinued the ones for white GTUs which i have...
