1989 GTUS Value
This is a repeat request. I'm looking for any literature establishing the value of 1989 RX7 GTUS or an ad showing one for sale.
Thanx for your help, Judy

Literature, I doubt you will find. You'll just have to look for a long period of time, and keep track of the selling prices of the vehicles. There are VERY few of them out there.
From my experience of about 5 years, i can say that they
ll go anywhere from $500-4500 depending on mileage, condition, modifications, and location. I personally had a GTU-s a year ago that I sold for $3400 and it needed paint badly...the rest of the car was excellent, even had a rebuilt engine.

The GTUs is VERY rare, HOWEVER, the only people who know what it is, are the people on this forum... and most of us are cheap bastards!!!!
Seriously, its not going to fetch much more than a 91 GTU in the same condition.
If its in immaculate condition, with less that 100k, you could probably get 5K for it.
However, if the car has different wheels, or aftermarket body parts... you just lost the collector value.
You'll need to give us more info on the condition of the car and some pics... if you want an honest opinion, be as detailed as possible.
Also, while I loved my GTU... it simply isn't a Turbo II, and therefore, will never draw the same price as a Turbo II in the same condition.

GTUS Value
Hi-I appreciate your responses.
Any pics we had of car went up in smoke along with the rest of the house.
The body was in almost great shape. Same mechanically.
Mileage was about 125k. Slight wear on driver seat material.
About a year ago, I saw an ad somewhere on the internet about someone selling one for around $9k-$10k.
I check "thepartstrader" & Hemmings-nothing there. I'm working on doing an Autotrader search by popular zipcodes across the U.S.
Per the insurance person, the company is looking for anything that establishes value though they'd prefer an ad for someone selling the car.
Thanx for help, Judy

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Typically, the GTUs model will be worth about $1000 more than any other 89-91 non-turbo coupe.
Edmunds.com does have a listing for what they sell for from private party, dealer retail and dealer wholesale.
