1988 shift knob removal

1988 shift **** removal

I have an 88 non turbo and i can not get the shift **** out is there a certian way i got to do it?

There is a locking nut below it that needs to be backed off, then simply unscrew it.

be forwarned, 1988s have thier own unique shifter, only universal slip on ***** will work on them.

Or you can do as I did and replace the trans in my S4 (88) vert with an s5 turbo model. (JUST so I didn't have to use a damn slip on ****, yeah- that's it)

he just wanted to tell us he put a turbo transmission in.

my thought is if a guy is asking how to take off his **** he wont resort to changing transmissions.

I have a c's short shifter, and its also S4 threads which is something like 12x 1.5 or something
