Slow down, grasshopper....
S4's (1988 and before) only had LSD in GXL's and TII's. TII 3rd member LSD would be a very complicated option, so go for a 3rd member LSD from a wrecking yard GXL as your best option. Obviously, the lower mileage GXL the better.
Actually, easy enough to put in that I'd suggest you do it yourself. Drop the exhaust (two bolts off the rear Cat and pull hangers aside) at the Y pipe and pull away and let drop to access the drive axle. Take off the drive axle (four 14mm bolts), unbolt the half shafts from either side of the 3rd member and pull away (four 14mm bolts each), and then unbolt the 3rd member at the "ears" (two 17MM bolts access with a long extension). It would be easiest if you have a hydrolic jack and a friend to help lower it and put in the replacement.
Installation is in the reverse order. Just be sure and tighten the bolts to the correct torque. Taking your time, should be able to do this in a hour or two.
Do you need LSD to drift properly? Someone else will have to answer that question.
Good Luck!
