I have a 88 N/A convert. this is my second engine installed I,m having the same problems with this as the last

1st) will not idle starts up fine goes to 3gs comes down
to 1g then cuts off.

2nd) I saw a red glow at the oxygen sensor

3rd) I have tryed everything to get this car to idle long enough to set the timing

most recent cant get the starter to work, had it checked
they said it was fine

please help out.

 

How are you checking timing before startup? There is a method you can use to get the CAS dead on, before you start..
