Roughly about 5mm at the bottom of the hole. Just to basically make it a perfect circle.

I put a set of 3 1/2" infinity in there. Had to squeeze them in the foam

Hey guys new owner of an 88 vert here, just bought a Pioneer AVHX2700BS to replace the stock stereo since the cd player and tape are out, wanted to ask if anyone new the specific harness to use to make the wiring simpler.

Jackhild59 recommended the Metra 70-7901 harness adapter here: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-arch...works*-936433/ but he has an s5 (1989+) so I wasn't sure if it would have changed with the style shift.

Can you explain this a little more? Are you saying I need to use the acc wire as a ground? And what makes it a relay? I do have a motorized antenna.

No.

You'll have a **blue/white wire coming from the aftermarket unit that provides 12v power when the unit is on to activate motorized antennas or amplifiers. Since our cars provide GROUND to the antenna motor to activate it, you'll need a relay to convert the 12v signal from the **blue/white wire to a ground signal to activate the antenna motor.

Like this...

86 - Blue/white
85 - ground
87 - antenna wire to car
87a - not used
30 - ground

**Note**

If you have a kenwood or alpine radio, use the blue wire coming from the aftermarket unit. This way, anytime the radio is not on the tuner source, the antenna will not be raised. Some kenwood radios have this wire but it is not functional, so check the manual.

Did you have to rewire the new speakers directly?

Did you rewire the doors for the new speakers?

If you can trace the stock wires then it seems appropriate to use them.
Myself,I just hated the fact that the wiring was 20 years old and took the old stuff out and ran my own through the rubber "snorkel".
What a job that was..lol!
