28K in 88 was a lot of money. Below is my blog link that I am keeping up during the restoration. A lot of work as it sat for 3 years but I will make us all proud I promise. Keeping it mostly stock except for some HP upgrades since I have to get a rebuild.

0623574 checking in. Purchased out of Houston. I am absolutely thrilled at the condition of this car. It looks almost like it just rolled off the lot back in '88. For a few pics, see my introduction post here.
I'm making it a daily driver, and aside from a few pieces I need (tensioner for A/C, replacement TPS) and a bit of work it needs (brakes squeal a bit), it's in perfect driving condition. It really flies!
Since it runs so well, I'll be making it more liveable as a daily driver. I'll be putting a new head unit in it and adding a bit of bass. Nothing earth-shaking, just something to give me some bass response. I'll be putting that unit in the driver side storage bin to keep the stock look and avoid getting my windows smashed so some joker can take my audio setup. I'll keep you guys posted as I go.

That is a pretty cool handbook, I have one but its not even close to what that one looks like. I bought my owners packer off of ebay. When I got it, I noticed that the person had left their insurance card in it, so I figured I would check the VIN against the registry. As it turns out, it was from a 10th AE.

My first rx7, my first real body project, loved these cars for years and couldnt pass this deal up. when i seen this car for the first time it was under a car cover in a guys yard around the corner from my house. i asked to see if he would sell it and when he told me it had major body work to be done i was really reluctant on buying it. but when he pulled the car cover off and i noticed how spotless everything else was i had to have it. it took me a couple min to realize that it was not an ordinary s4 and he pointed out the gold badge! this is 24 years old and the bolts still shine like new, the motor runs like a top. the under body is rust free and the 10th anniversary goodies are still all here! i NEED to restore this back to its glory add my personal touch and keep this car forever, maybe pass it off to my son when hes older..

Just took delivery of my "Baby". A 10th Anniversary with 64,000 original miles (102K kilometers). I bought it sight unseen from Ontario Canada and had it shipped in an enclosed truck to Miami.
Received it today and I couldn't be happier. It's all original and was always garage kept. The original owner owned the local Mazda dealership. When he passed, the guy that I bought it from received it from his wife as his retirement present. The car has the a few dealer options that I'm probably going to nix: Wind guard over sunroof, Bosh fog lights, and mud flaps. Oddly, the car doesn't seem to have AC and the previous owner said that it never had AC. I don't know if that's because it was originally a Canadian car but I'll find out tomorrow at Petit. Also it has the speedometer in KM and not miles which I kind of like.
I had a 10 AE in college but it was in pretty bad shape and I didn't have the resources to properly care for it. After selling it in 98 I always wanted the right AE.
I'm taking it to Petit Racing tomorrow for a once over and full tune up etc.
A few minor things so far - the stock radio turns on but the screen doesn't work and you can't change stations. Also, the clock works only when i have my foot on the brake. Nothing major yet which is great.
Importing the car to the US hasn't been a major issue so far. Some custom$ duty, it's exempt from EPA since it's over 21 years old, and DOT wasn't a problem. I got a 30 day temp tag ahead of time in FL and have to take it to the DMV for them to check it out before I can get the permanent tag.

Thanks to a fellow forum member, I was lucky enough to purchase these original OEM 10th Anniversary floor mats, pillow, and bra. The mats have never been used and I only plan on putting them in the car when having friends over. I've been trying to get my hands on as much of this as possible. I also picked up an owners manual on ebay along with one of the magazine ads. The car came with the original key and Canadian warranty book.
Right now the car is at Pettit. He's replacing all of the hoses and belts. The exhaust was rusted out so I decided on a Racing Beat catback. He also installed a new clutch, plugs, and brake lines. And he's going to put AC in the car since the Canadian versions oddly enough didn't come with AC.
I also bought all new exterior trim for the car like exterior window seals, wiper arms, flash to pass lenses, hatch seals, etc. Even though it has been garaged it's whole life these things wear out I guess.

0623568...its mine now. This car has been around. I bought it up in Berkeley Ca. Had florida plates. Now its in Union City Ca. Runs great. But Iits in poor shape. Am missing, floor mats, booklets, emblems etc :'(...am turning her around though. She found her real home with me. Speedo says 64k miles but am not so sure. Regardless it is a 10th anny so shes a keeper.

I'm happy to report that 0623621 is back among the land of the living. New engine and rebuilt drivetrain. Needs paint badly but at least I can fire it up and cruise in a 5-speed again.

You can add another 10th AE to the list. 0622729 is alive and well and cruising around the Twin Cities again! I am the second owner and have had her since 1994. Just passed the 123,456 milestone on the original engine and we're still spooling up, winding out, and having fun. Yes I'm in Minnesota and NO she has never been through a single winter. No snow = No salt = No rust.

I currently have 2 10th AE's.... Guess what? They are not all identical. One of them has a different security system than the other. It has a several "sonic" sensors while the other 10th AE does not. Has anyone else noticed this?
