Thought I'd drop a post to say how impressive it is that you started this thread more than 5 years ago and you're still right in the middle of it. Well done.

I don't have a 10th AE but I'm in the early stages of a T-II conversion for my '88 convertible. My plan is to do it up as if it came from the factory that way - using parts only from '88 T-IIs.

Mrmazda7 has most of the T-II parts I will need and also has parted out several 10th AEs. I'm wondering how the pure 10th AE owners would respond to the idea of making an '88 convertible look like it had been built as a 10th AE - with the special wheels, steering wheel, shifter, etc. Can't bring an original 10th AE back to life, but I can honor the spirit by transplanting it into a convertible.

Any comments, guys?

Thanks for the encouraging replies. I agree on the exterior badging - that's like false advertising or something. My vert's factory color is Noble White w/ blue interior.

I'm trying to find the right balance between keeping its original identity while honoring the 10th AE concept. Right now, I'm thinking 10th AE wheels and monochrome exterior but staying with Noble White. Planning to keep the blue interior but change to 10th AE steering wheel and shifter.

It seemed like forever before I had enough post to get my 10th ae registered. I saved it from a trade in value of $1,100. Ex mother in law was tired of shifting gears and was buying a new suv. That was 10 yrs ,about $12k dollars and maybe 4k miles ago. I have been taking my time. But next month will be my last payment on my super duty so I'll have an extra $700. a month. As most 10th owners have known for years, Dale Clark hasn't owned 0622799 for quite a few years now. I recall seeing a video from Deal's Gap some time back that the guy that bought it put a V8 in it, did some body mods, all sorts of stuff. His car, his call, for sure, but I was sad to see it, as I always wanted to get my hands on it one day, since it is the "sister car" to mine (0622804) they were the only two 10th Anns sold new by Vince Whibbs Mazda in Pensacola, FL.

it was a painful day to see it go.. she was my baby.. but it allowed me to pay off much needed debt for some breathing room. i believe Eric will take good care of it and he has strict instructions to contact me should he decide to sell it, lol.
