1988' 10th AE (not starting)

1988' 10th AE (not starting)

remanufactured motor, currently 59xx miles on motor.
currently equipted with a fuel switch, that i believe leads to the fuel pump (on/off).

ok so last sunday, i start the engine but fail to let it warm up i.e. (short start). a few hours later, i procede to go start it up again, but this time it wont start, i crank it, but nothing. i call a few people, and they give me that it is flooded, so i do the simple procedure on www.rx7.com to unflood the engine, minor smoke comes out, but nothing noticable, i.e. doesnt work.

next day, i have a few friends come over and they help with the complex procedure. conclusion it doesnt seem flooded, nothing came out. this process didnt work, battery is now close to dead, so after i get it charged, where do i go from here?

edit:
after the plugs were pulled in process with complex procedure, they were wet, smelled like gasoline, dark color.

yes yes, classic case, i totally admit my mistake.

ok on to todays work,
recharged battery, then tried to start it. cranked, cranked, cranked a few times. nothing. finally it nearly started, teasing me and my friend helping. cranked again a few more times, finally again, another near start. ok so we proceded on to trying to push start it. that went no where. so pushed it back to the garage. pulled each spark plug wire, cranked it, to see if it was fireing. each was. then the oddest thing happened, it nearly started with 3 plugs in the engine. well in conclusion, no sucess today.

someone please give input.

really badly flooded rx7's can be brutal to start. Everything your doing seems to be fine. Make sure you pull both fuses when you are trying to unflood it. Put your foot to the floor, then have your buddy put the fuses back in. If this doesnt seem to work, remove the plugs and crank it for like half a minute, and let all the gas come out of the plug holes. This will help. Dry off the plugs and let them sit for an hour. The most effective way though seems to be if you have a tow cable, hook it up to another car, and have it tow your car around the street until it starts. This usually always works. good luck

thanks thats also close to what kungfuroy suggested to me:

Quoted from a message:
It wont start at all anymore?? Looks like your injectors are leaking then. Leaking badly if sitting just for a few hours floods the engine.
Here is how to unflood it

Remove the 2 engine fuse that are closest to the the engine(EGI fuses)

Cranking the car for about 10 seconds while pressing the gas pedal all the way down.

Stop

Return the fuses and try to start it up.

If this doesnt work, remove the bottom 2 spark plugs and clean them with carb cleaner and let them dry. Crank the engine while the plugs are out and while the fuses are out. The put the fuses and spark plugs back.

and also

Also since you are running hella hella rich, your plugs could already be fucked up again. Take them out and see if they look like your old plugs. You should be able to clean them with spray carbureator cleaner and a toothbrush.

Before anything else, figure out how to cancel the tunning on the afc

thanks much for the responses people, keep em coming please!
