1987 RX's N/A Help Quick!

Hi I'm new to the site just starting in the RX world. I found a guy that has 2 1987 RX's ones a 5 speed GTX he said that he shorted a couple stereo wires and blew a fuse then after that the fuel pump did not work and the car hasnt ran since. Its in fair shape for an 87 that has been outside for 2 years. What could be the problem with this car? He's asking around 400 for it I'm thinking about offering 300 what do you think? And for car number 2. Its an 87 auto it has a problem with the primary coil. He has replaced the coil a few times with different coils and traced all the wires to and from the coil but it still will not fire. The secondary fires but the primary does not. No visible wire damage anywhere..... What could be the problem with this car? He is also asking 400 and I'm again thinking about offering 300. What do you guys think about that?

it is very rare that a coil fails so, that is probably not the problem.

sounds like he has blown fuses and a clueless owner.

What do you think about the price on both? The auto have 95K and the 5 speed had 94K.

I personally wouldn't buy an auto tranny RX-7, but if it floats your boat.

Yeah, generally (depending on body condition) up to $500 for a dead non turbo, and up to $1000 for a turbo or vert that is not running.

Ok so I will tell him I just want the 5 speed. The body is a little rough and it needs tires and paint for sure. The front drivers corner has a dent in it as well. Also is it possible to put a turbo on a n/a car?
