CA 1987 rx7 na cal cat

hooray. My rx7 passed the smog inspection. Thanks to all the people who gave advise and support. The new cat converter did the trick on the HC and the O2 sensor handled the NOX. I found a site called Hottexhaust.com. Out of Canada. The magnaflo cat I needed was $277.00 and I got It for $140.00 delivered in three days. This is the oem bolt in replacement with the proper air flange. So now onto fixing up the interior of the car. Any sites or stores I should try. Thanks again Tim

Did you check to see that the ECU is going into closed loop operation with your new O2 sensor? If it is not, you will burn up that new cat by the time your next smog check comes around...

could you post your smog result values? i'm interested in the margin you passed the test by. the tougher standards are 30% lower, and i'm curious how well the odb2 ca legal cat performed. thanks.

The new cat really worked. 15 mph test max 121 meas. 48...... 25 mph test max 96. meas. 85. before the new cat is was blowing 240 and 188 which is a drastic improvement. The best advice i heard is to take the cat off after the test put in a nice hi-po piece and save the cat for the next test or to sell. Send me your email address if you want a complete copy of the tests. Tim

My mechanic knew the reset code and tuned the car pretty easily. it runs really well and is getting decent milage and not using oil.I am very happy with my $1000.00 Rx7.

Yes but they are really pricey. I am looking for a dash and idiot light bezel.
