So recently I did a small road trip and I was coming home and cruising on the highway in 5th gear and suddenly my car acted like it was in neutral and stopped accelerating while the engine revved up. Downshifted into 4th and still had power but when I got off the highway going down past that all the other gears acted as neutrals. Was wonder what could cause that and I have a video where when the clutch isn’t pressed down there’s noise from the transmission but goes away after pushing down on the clutch. Much help would be appreciated!!!!!

 

Failed lay shaft/gears. 4th connects the input directly to the output shaft, all the others require transfer to the layshaft from the input and back to the output shaft.
