i payed $4,500 for my '87 tII, arctic silver with mint insides, and overall good paint, just a little weak on the rearviews and the pass. door - the engine was advertised as 12k miles on a rebuilt motor (130k body miles) but the rear apex blew on my way home - spent nine months and about 1200 rebuilding a jdm series 5 and still think i got a good deal

I think it's high. I wouldnt spend more than 2500 MAX on it.

When I got my first 86 N/A base, I spent $2500, and that was in 1997. It had over 100,000 miles on it and ran strong. Body was near mint. Interior was pretty good. Had a small rip in the seat but nothing major.

Just my 2 cents.

I paid 1250 for my GXL. It was out of timing and needed the full 60k tune up (had 112k on it). In good condition, nice body, paint was old but as expected.... but its also an auto. Take that as you will. I like mine and think I made out good :p (just need a MT now)

Wow, I'm so jealous of all of you. I do a search on autotrader for this area and I see most cars at twice bluebook. The only ones that go for bluebook are junkers, or off this forum, which aren't many.

Im looking to pick up a 87 base tomorrow... got the owner down to 3500, comes with new clutch that i have to put in. beside that it is mint with 46K on engine and on the car. I know its above blue book but all the ones around here are beat that i have seen. This sounds like a good deal?

I just bought an 87 base 4 weeks ago for $1400, but the price on the window said $2950. Had some serious mileage on it though and the paint was crap, major electrical problems too, but I love every minute of it all, if it was in mint condition, I wouldn't have anything to do.

That is about right if the car is fully reconditioned and sold from a dealership that offers a warranty. If the car is being sold from a private party with no warranty, then the asking price is about twice what the car is worth.
