i'm lookin at this car the owner said that mazda told him the motor basically threw a fireball back up into the intake. he said the car started smokin real bad. its not runnin right now said he tried to jump it an it would not even try to start.but my question is is that something that would be easy to fix or is the motor shot?

The owner doesn't know ****.
A rotary engine can't throw a fireball back up the intake. It can't even happen.
And the band aid of some snake oil will not help if you have a blown motor or coolant seal.

Only way it can even throw a fireball up into the intake manifold is if more than 1 of the apex seals are blasted, the rotor is compromised, and then after that the TB Would have to be open.
Basically, if he cant jump the engine, it needs to be rebuilt. Compression test it, should be steady jumps of over 70 PSI (85 Being Nominal 110 Being Great) and theres should be 3 steady jumps over and over as you crank the motor. If this is your 1st RX7 and the dude wants less than 1000$ for it, its worth it for a rebuild. If you have the time and money for a rebuild that is. Estimate a week and 1500$ for a correct base rebuild with all internals reusable. If a rotors gone, estimate 200-600$ per rotor, if a housing is cracked, estimate the same price for a housing if not more, if you want any porting done, thats extra.
-- Edit -- also as most say, read these guides if its your 1st Wenkel Driven Car, especially RX7. -

an as for the use of barr's stop leak. I dont exspect it to fix it just to give me a little more time.just wonderin if that stuff will hurt it anymore.
i had the motor out of the car when i spun the flywheel it dropped water out of the exaust manifold so i'm thinkin that is a good sign of a blown coolant seal
