1986 common problems

ok so of course i am a noob here but it has to happen, i am about to buy a 1986 rx-7 w/ 293xxx miles on body and engine replace 6 years ago, so i was wandering as a noob to these nice rides what problems can i expect out of this car or what should i look for when buying, also whats a good price for this nice ride w/ steelies and worn tires. thxs
i am goin to continue searching see if i can dig up anything

I wouldn't offer more than 1300 (definite max). 293k on the body is a lot of miles and a lot of wear and tear. Also, in 6 years god knows how many miles have been put on the engine.

As with any car with ~300k miles, things are getting very old and worn out. Some major problem parts include anything rubber and anything that moves (yes... anything that moves). You also need to look out for rust. Depending on where you are in KY, the snow/salt could cause problems.

I paid 1600 for my 86 Sport with ~120k miles on it. Since I live close to you, the prices should be somewhat the same.
