17" rims + 1" lowered?

If i were to lower the car 1", would i be better off with 16 or 17" rims? Does it matter, or mostly appearance? Suggestions/recommendations appreciated

Do you want to look uber cool? Go with some 17" 's.
Do you want you're wheels to be light, look sexy, and perform awesome because of their size? Go with VERT RIMS, KTHX BBQBYE

I would go with 17's. I have them on my car w/235 on front and 265 on back.. But this all depends on what width you want and offset's?.

i have icon 17's with 205 40 z rated tires on them im also lowering my car one inch .. now my tires arent nearly wide enough however /// if u want best performance 17 by 7.5 or 8 will do u just right ... no more than that thoe other wise will offset the weight distrabution ... and cause ur car to handle less agile

265 wide in 17" diameter?
Do they make such a tire?

Here's my FC with 17's 215/45's on the front 245/45's on the *** (7.5 wide wheels on front 8.5 on rear) and eibach's (.8 inch drop)

I love it... no rubbing, decent ride, i can go to 255's on the rear no problem and the rears are JUST a bit taller in the sidewall that the front, makes ;em look like rear tires should.. meaty!!!

What is the offset of rims you're looking at purchasing?

I have 17x7 rims with 205/40 kumhos on a lowered 88 and it rubs when I parallel park. Nothing a hammer can't fix. I hate how skinny the tires are, but I got them cheap.

vert wheels, while light, are hideous IMO

Compared to other FC wheels, I think they're pretty classy, especially if they're in good condition.

It's the verts themselves that are hideous.

I have 17's (Mazda3 wheels with 1" spacer which makes it approx 45mm offset). on 225/45's all the way around. No problems what so ever. My friend also has a similar setup, but on stock suspension. But it seems he would clear.
