I've got Oz Moda II 2 peice modular wheels 17x10.5 in the rear and 17x7.5 or 8 in the front, I use 2 spacer plates on each side in the rear to clear them. nothing in the front so i guess that makes them only 17x7.5. They are the best looking wheels i've EVER seen on an FC. But they suck for gas mileage they are heavy as **** compared to the stock rims (currently in winter mode right now, so i've got the stockies on with some blizzaks). I run Nankangs in the rear and they are pretty good. they are probly only 10inches wide so they come inside the wheel a little bit, but potenza's up front. I gotta tell you tho, they are AWESOME for high speed cornering, drifting, all types of ill Sh*t, but when it comes down to laying down thick black strips on the asphault the definatly drag ***. I need to find a better balance. Anyone got some idea's?

"Lightweight casting" is a very subjective term. Most 17" rims weigh damn near 25lbs so one that's only 19 is relatively lightweight.

I won't go over a 16" rim unless I can find one that weighs less than 15lbs and costs less than 150 bucks a pop. The slipstreams are my #1 choice right now and will only be displaced if I can find a 16x8 or a 17x8 that look as good and weigh next to nothing for the right price.

Heavy rims are probably why all of you are so damn slow. I'd stick with my 12lb 14" phone dials if I could get a 245 tire on them. I break loose at about 20mph from a rolling start when I start getting above 5K. I hit my torque peak and they turn over AND, I have a very functioning LSD....

245's on the phone dials? Your tires are deformed and not giving you best grip possible. Get some wider wheels so the carcass isn't being flexed. With the proper pressure in them you'll be sticking well enough to not have them break free like they do now.

Jerk, I said IF I could fit 245's on the phone dials i would... obviously they wont fit! I have 205's on them right now and the sidewalls are a bit fat as it is. I've tried 3 other types of tires on the back end and all of them break traction at somewhere around 20mph in first. I NEED wider rubber, but don't want the added weight from heavy castings. I refuse to put 17lbs rims on my car. i will rather wait till I can get something light enough to fit my purpose and keep smoking the **** out of all of the dumbasses on this forum who have slow cars that "look nice."

<sorry for the nasty attitude here but the other thread where everyone called me a liar really pisses me off>

MUSTANG COBRA WHEELS WILL NOT FIT FC3S. Just an FYI. The offsets are totally off. It's the right boltpattern but it'll look like you've extended your axles and should have hydraulics. hehe.

The Buddy Club or Kosei K1 are only like 15lbs ea. That's a great weight to have.

IF you want an even better wheel you could do this:



This wheel is made in a 16,8 and 17,8. I have the 17's on my GTUs. The 17,8 is 15 lbs and based on Enkei's formula one racing design. It is strong. They also make this wheel in a 16,8. This will be your cheapest, lightest, and strongest wheel in my opinion.

The 17" we're blowing out for $850.00 shipped. They are normally about $1000.00 shipped with hardware. The 16,8 would be cheaper but it's not in the states yet. These are imported from Japan.

I like those... How much do you think the 16x8's will run? and how much will it weigh? any idea when it'll come stateside?

I'm looking at either rims and rubber this spring or new fuel management. I plan on slapping some motorcycle tires onto my two enki AL spares for the fronts and getting a pair of 300zx rims for the back to throw slicks on for the track.

For running 245's up front will I need to extend my fenders out at all or will they stuff under alright?

Definitely need to flare those fenders out a bit! I'm about 1/4" away from the coils with 225/45 17's, and I get a bit of fender rub under hard cornering/bumps (it catches the lip...oops!). That's at the stock ride height too (although it's sagged a bit).

I dont know anything about those rims. I know the replicas I found use our bolt pattern, and are 16x8

This is why my Oz wheels probably won't be going back on in the summer. I like the enkei rims that ARD posted (the specs) i don't really like the spokes the way they are. If they had them in a different style i'd probably buy them.

Ya no spacers or anything for the stang GT rims. Oh and they are 17x8 and can be had for less than $300 for a set. Pretty good if you ask me.

well, i just got done compairing the stock cobra wheels to a stock GXL wheel, and everything looks good. Havent tried them on yet cuz it was getting late. My friend says that they are the same size as the 17" GT wheels, so if what ride or die says is true, they should fit fine; the use of a spacer might be required. These wheels sell for less then $400 on the mustang fourm at corral.net

Well the guy whose care is in the pic says he didn't use any spacer and runs 225/45/17 and 245/45/17s on them.
