16 x8 wheels

I am looking for info on weather or not I can put a 16 x 8 wheel under my 89 Rx7.
This is for a racing application and I can massage the stock fenders if needed.
I plan to run a 245-45-16 Toyo Ra-1 Tire. I am currently running 15 x 7 wheels with 38mm offset and 225-45-15 tires and I have to use 1/2" spacers in front to clear the coil-over perch and springs.
If you have any experience or advice I need help. I am looking for offset requirements as well as interference issues.
With my car at it's current ride height I will occasionally touch the chassis directly above the wheel under severe braking. So I will most likely have to increase ride height to clear the 16" tires since thay are 1.7" taller overall.

Thanks in advance,

Try minimum +30 offset with a 8" wide front.
I'd try to shoot more for a +25 with the wider 245 tire though...
This would require rolling fenders.
