I drive moderately... granted I'm not exactly easy on the car all the time. It gets redlined a couple times a day.

Turn your ignition on so the lights on the warning light cluster all come on (but don't start it). One has a picture of a fuel pump and the word FUEL under it.

It should come on when there's a couple of gallons left in the tank. My gauge actually reads right on zero before it comes on, but there's still plenty left in the tank.

You might not want to rely on that fuel light. I ran out of gas once because it didn't come on. (the gauge was getting real close to E but light never came on. It came on a few times before though.... weird)

yeah our idiot light cluster/warning light cluster isnt exactly the best ... over the years the cold solder joints really start to take effect. my fuel light doesnt even work.

so if there is an X amount of unusable fuel left in the tank, could it be accessible if the car was driving on an incline?

just curious. sorry about the strange scenario

I swear my 89 had a 16.6 gallon tank, I've been able to put 15 or so gallons in my 88, just like my 89. Maybe its just for 90 and up models?

what causes the car to gulp a full tank of gas in four days even when babied and I don't smell any feul.
The pulsation damper is fix. I can literally watch the needle go down as I drive. **** gs is exspensive.

Your gas level sender is probably broken/malfunctioning.

Nope. They're separate devices.

My low fuel light works while my gauge has been dead for ages...

I drained my '89 TII fuel tank and cleaned it out today. Put a gallon of gas in and drove it to the gas station. It took a little over 17 gallons to fill up.
