1500 rpm bounce

hey people...its been about a couple weeks since ive been driving around with my jspec motor. it runs fine but after a week or so...my rpms would seem to bounce around the 1500 area.

and also, my tachometer seems to stop working after a while i drive my car. when i start the car, the tachometer works but then later on..it just dies. it wont stay dead, itll actually keep working after every time i start it.

the bouncing is likely caused by a misadjusted TPS or a vaccum leak.

Are you getting a code at all when the tach dies? (if the ECU senses a failure, it'll throw a code & shut down the trailing system...)

Any performance suffering at all when the tach dies?

Mine bounces when it hits 7800 . . right in the middle of the power band.

88integraLS: MINE TOO! dammit.

my car had the 1500RPM bounce too.
the only way I could get rid of it (I even spent $500 at a shop to no avail) was to remove ALL the emmissions crap, find a new UIM, and start over.

no, havent noticed any performance problems when it dies....except when to shift thats about it lost to a V6 2000 Accord cause i short-shifted.

what kind of code are you talking about? if you mean the 'check engine' light then that thing is always on. ive been told because its because of my cats missing. is there a way to find out what kind of code i have?

also i realized another problem. i noticed that sometimes while driving it would feel as if my accelerator is partially open when my foot isnt even on the pedal. it would do this every now and then. its really bothersome because when i get to a light and put it into neutral it will go up to almost 3000 rpms.
this is very bothersome especially when i shift cuz it almost...just almost seems like a slipping clutch.

one more thing, my air/fuel gauge seems to work when it only wants. tonight it was working fine but anytime before that it was only a tad bit. could it be a ground?

well here's whats done to my car so you guys know what might be up

Jspec swap
series 4 secondary fuel rail
external wastegate
550cc inj.
fuel pressure regulator reading 60-70 psi
all new turbo gaskets
should be new intake manifold gaskets
