140K end of life Coolant Elbow
I'm sure that most would agree that around 125K it is time to watch for things that wear out.
I just wanted to alert all that I just found that the elbow from the radiator hose that houses the thermostat just eroded on the inside of the hose where it is affixed with the hose clamp. Unseen because it is on the inside - but coolant light came on and steam visible when hood lifted. After running in the driveway I found the connection to be leaking. After inspection I found a long "groove" had aparently eroded. From the end it looks like a "C".
New part $55 from Mazda.
90 GXL 14K on engine rebuild.
Heads up -- FYI
